“No maid service!”

The web site said it had been refurbished in the last 2 years - really? I stayed 3 nights. I returned to my room about 7:30pm after being gone since 7am only to find my room was not made up. I call the front desk only to be told the maids were sick. Later by someone else I was told there is made service only every other day - huh? When I returned after being gone all the next day again my room was not made up. I went to the office and no one was there! Later I returned and the fellow said my room was checked off so I should have been done but I could see it wasn't checked off the same way the others were. He said again there was nothing he could do but asked me what I needed. Again I was lied too because when I left the office I almost ran into a "maid team" pushing a vacuum cleaner and carrying towels. I thought Travelodge enforced some minimum standards.
