“The Worst in College Station”

  , College Station
For any who read this, there are plenty of other options in the same price range, so do yourself a favor and avoid this place. But if you must stay, the clerk to avoid is a hispanic female in her early to mid-thirties. I paid for a week, in town for work, and had equipment so I requested a first floor room. Because I had made a reservation via a 3rd party website, and such a request was not an option, I requested it at the desk. There were about 15 vehicles in the parking lot, so first floor rooms were available. Instead of accomodating me, in order to avoid making a few extra key strokes on her keyboard, the lady said "they" had already put me on the third floor, that "they" had turned on the a/c for me and - not to worry because there was an elevator to use. It was late, I was tired, she was dumb, so I didn't argue. I asked if there was an alarm clock in the room, she said yes. I open the door and the air inside is hot, humid and musty. Not only was the a/c not on, but the door to the mini-fridge was open, turned off, and I had cold stuff from the grocery store. Plus, no alarm clock. Apparently every single thing she had told me was a lie. I'm angry at this point, and all I want to do is get to sleep, so I call and ask for her to round me up an alarm clock. She said, "Would you like a wake-up call?", and I said, "No, I just need the clock", she said, "So you don't want it, okay well..." and was preparing to hang up. I quickly said, "Mam, I do need a clock, not a call, but something that tells time." She did find me one, and that was the end of day one (I checked in at 10p.m., by the way). I'll spare you the rest, but throughout the course of the week I had to buy my own toilet paper, and walk around in my flip-flops otherwise my socks would turn black, and I am not at all exaggerating. The carpet is so bad that it has to be a violation of some health code. It is that quality of service that makes a mockery of our version of Capitalism, and is causing our country to rot from the inside out. People come here from other countries and don't have the respect to observe our traditions or how their predecessors did things. Then they have the audacity to be arrogant, rude, and look at you with an air of disdain and superiority that is all a consumer needs to understand that they really don't care. It's a college town, so they stay busy no matter what. Last advice, pack a sleeping bag and stuff your ears with cotton before going to sleep.
